Gimpy

Silly random post, but hey, it's a Sunday night, I'm bored and so hey.....I'll post about my foot! About a week ago, it was a typical morning. Kids are eating breakfast, I'm trying to help them get out the door to school. I walked around the corner to our den and smacked my little toe on the door frame, then 5 feet further, smacked the same toe on the computer chair. It HURT!!! Then after about an hour, I realized it still hurt, really bad! Then it started getting puffy like a little sausage. So I figured it was more than just a stubbed toe. But there's nothing much you can do for a busted toe any way.
Then at Ashton's x-ray appointment for his wrist, the doctor saw my toe and said, "hey, ya know we're allowed a couple 'mess up' x-rays per patient." She told me to throw my foot on the table and took an x-ray of it. Yup, it's broke. They quickly eliminated the 'evidence' after looking at it. She said to just wrap it to the next toe and take care of it. I asked if I could still do my upcoming 8k race in 2 weeks and she said I could try to walk/run it. But not to over do. So any who. It's all good. Just sore. And as with any boo-boo, it always seems to be stepped on more, smacked more, and ran into ALL the time! And I stubbed it again yesterday morning on the same stinking computer chair! Ugh! Some day it will heal!
Here is way more pics than you'd ever want to see of my foot! But hey, again, I was bored! And that's a rare thing! So be glad I'm not bored more often and have more time on my hands! ;)

Wow, that nail polish is looking sad!

"Bruiser"

When we lived in Texas, some close friends of ours referred to Ashton as "bruiser". They joking said that for his birthday they would get him bubble wrap to wrap himself in to protect him from all the bumps and scrapes he would get almost daily. Well he has lived up to that nick-name his whole life. His latest accident was falling off his bike and fracturing his wrist. Here are the pics of the cast he had to get. I'm bummed that they are poor quality pics, but all I had was my phone with me at the hospital. So I guess I'll take what I can get! He was a trooper!

Ashton continues to ride his bike with his cast and all! He is a champ! He's even learned to feed himself, write, brush teeth, and other things left handed! It hasn't seemed to bother him much. The only bummer is not being able to get it wet. He's had to watch through the window as his brother and friends have water fights in the front yard. Other than that, and revised showers, all is well!

Strawberry Pickin'!

Thank goodness we were able to go strawberry picking before the big storm. We are still holding out hope for one more "good pick" before the crop is over. We'll see. I wanted to be able to take the boys too. We'll see. Here are some pictures of our little trip to pick berries with Kate and her kiddo's.

Father and Son Campout

Darren got back just in time to take the boys on the father and son camp out! They had a blast. And Lily, Jake and I, chilled at home and went to bed early in our nice, warm, temperature controlled, soft, cozy, beds! ;) The boys had a blast and I'm thankful to a very tired daddy after being gone training for 3 weeks (camping out for 90% of the time I might add) who got home, and turned around to take his boys camping......AGAIN!

Their sleeping quarters!

I love how dirty Ashton's face is! So cute!

Looks like Ethan has a stick in Ashton's ear about to mame him, but he assures me the stick is behind Ashton's head!

Seasoned campers!

Thanks again Daddy!
