Halloween!

As you may have read in a previous post, we were sick a large chunk of the month of October and had to cram all the festivities of October into a few days. Today I woke up with a mission to get pumpkins so we could have carved jackolanterns by Halloween night. I drove to the store, none there, long story short and 6 stores later and ZERO pumpkins I was getting really sad and aggravated!!! So I sat there pondering what to do!!! And I saw a bunch of weird looking squash and thought, what the heck. So we carved squash this year! And the kids really enjoyed it thankfully! I've also included our costume pics and a few others in this post! Enjoy!

The kids finished projects

This looks yummy!

Hunt Club Farm

Yesterday we took the kiddos to Hunt Club Farm. We had so much fun together. We started off on a hay ride, then went to the petting farm, played on the giant hay pile, then rode some carnival rides. We had so much fun!

Check Lily out! She was flying!!!! And when she got down, she started laughing and said she wanted to go again! Silly girl! When I saw her flying down the slide I thought for sure she'd start crying at the end, but she didn't!

Thank Heavens for Michaels Craft Store

Our family was hit HARD by a nasty germ and it knocked us out for over half the month of October. I felt like I had been asleep in a bad dream and then when I woke up I realized it was the last week of October, and we hadn't carved pumpkins, gone to the pumpkin patch, done any Halloween crafts..... NOTHING!!!! I almost panicked a little bit, but we knocked it all out a little at a time. I ran to Michaels and found some cute cheap crafts for the kids to do. I normally do something a little more home-made, but I was in a pinch and grateful for something for them to do festive.

Halloween Cookies!

We have been sick sick and more sick. Maybe it just seems like that since it started at the beginning of the week and went all week with each kid getting sick right after each other and then I got sick at the end of the week. ANY WAY..... Tonight we're all FINALLY feeling a little better and I had made sugar cookie dough last weekend with the intent of doing this with the kids, but then I ended up freezing the dough since everyone kept getting sick. So we finally were able to make our sugar cookies tonight and the kids enjoyed it. Here are the fruits of our labors.

Last Hurrah

The weather was fantastic this weekend! It's probably the last little bit of "niceness" before the cold sets in. We have been meaning to fly the kids kites that they got for Easter forever now, so we decided to get out this weekend and do it before it was too cold. It was a gorgeous day! The kids had so much fun!!! Here are way too many pics of the occasion! ;)

My cute 6 month old! Sitting all by himself!

Enjoying the weather and the views

*Finito!*

Ethan has this project due on the 3 types of matter. Solid, Liquid, Gas. He had to make 3 categories, define what each type of matter was, and then DRAW 10 pics of each type of matter. That is 30 hand drawn pics people!!! It is finally DONE!! Thank goodness! I will admit to drawing 1 of his pics. But honestly only 1. He really did draw all the rest! Any way, I'm proud of all the work he did! He is pretty proud too!

Simple things

I really don't have anything monumental to post about. Just the in's and outs of our regular every day life. I had some funny pics to post, so here are some random (again) pictures of our latest happenings. The first couple I'm posting because Darren is out of town and can't see that I'm posting these. He would be really embarrassed if he knew I was posting these, but I can't resist! My hubby along with Ethan and Ashton are as "boy-ish" as you can get. Literally any chance they get, take off their clothes and wrestle like cave-men. Well to add to the mix this particular day, they got out the Halloween masks and were acting silly. I grabbed the camera and the first thing Darren said was, "you better not post these!" I assured him I wouldn't, but come on they are funny!

This is where Ethan fell asleep one night. And he would kill me if he knew I posted this as well! I guess I'm in a rhythm tonight of posting things I shouldn't! he he he!!!! :)

Enjoying the last of this season's nectarines and peaches. We're sooooo sad they will be gone soon. We have loved them so much! Yummy juicy-ness! ;)

Can you tell my family loves Halloween and all it's props?

My favorite baby in the whole world. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this baby so much!

Did I mention how much I LOVE him? Just in case... I Love Him!!!! ♥

That's all for now folks! I'll sure be glad when the hubby returns! Every time he leaves something retarded ALWAYS happens. I kid you not! Every single time!!! This time, Lily flushed a wash cloth down our toilet yesterday. Long story short, and all my towels and blankets later, the plumber finally came 8 hours later, and my home is no longer a swimming pool. ugh! That's all I want to say about that for now! :)

First Day of School!

School has finally come once again. The boys were excited and they did really well. Ashton was a trooper. He couldn't wait to get out the door and onto the bus! The house was very quiet after they left. But it's always good to get back into the swing of things. Here are some shots of the boys on their first day!

Ethan

Ashton (Does he look excited?)

Waiting at the bus stop with the neighborhood friends.

The bus lady was so cool! She saw that I had a camera in my hand and she said come in here and take a picture of them on the bus! So cute! I know I won't be able to do that for long, because it won't "be cool", so I'm glad I got these pics to remember! ;)

Jacob is how old???

5 months!!!! Where does time go??? Here a few pics of my fast growing ball of joy baby!!! We love him sooooooo much!!!!

Jacob and Lily. (His second mother) :)

My neighbor has a daughter that is exactly one week younger than Jacob. They are cute together!

I laughed so hard at the picture. I was trying hard to get a cute picture with Jacob and Yoda. But Jacob was not in the mood. He was so cranky. And this picture looks like Jacob is yelling at yoda! "GET OFF MY BLANKET!!" So funny!
