Call me mean!

Ashton has said the "s" word a couple times lately. He's not using it in a correct context; however, he's still saying it. Finally I had enough and made him hold soap in his mouth! He hasn't said it since. We're not sure if he's heard it on t.v. or where, but hopefully this won't be a reoccurring theme! I had to take pictures of him, it was too comical to pass up! Do you think I'm mean?

Robin,
When Bri's sister Nicole was young she was a smart mouth. I would take dish soap, put some on my finger and put it on her tongue. I think that is meaner than just the bar of soap. I guess it worked ok, she didn't need it done too many times before she decided not to be a smart mouth. Bri(the sweet sister that she is) would give Nicole a candy out of her mouth to help take the taste away. Sometimes being a strict parent is a hard job, but in the long run it is SO worth it. Good Luck.

No way dude! My parents made me do the same thing. I didn't swear again under their roof (only after I moved out). :) Happy late birthday Robin. 30 and beautiful!

And YOU thought I was the mean one, sending them to bed without dinner. How funny, I agree with my mom, though, it's not the easy route, but it's the one with the best results! You can tell Ashton, if I were there, I would have given HIM a piece of candy, too!!

Nope. I don't think you are. My mom made my brother put tabasco sauce in his mouth. Good job. Way to be a responsible parent.

In this context being mean is good. I use tabasco. Since I bought it and explained what it was for I haven't even had to use it. The mere thought of it is keeping Isaac's mouth clean.

I actually used Tabasco a few times when Brooke was younger (not for swearing but for lying). It's a food so it's not harmful in a health-sense. Poor Brooke cried big tears the few times I used it.
